December 11, 2008
In this time of uncertainty, it is more important than ever to reflect on our abiding values and practice simple appreciation. And so, as we end this year, I want to share with each of you that have supported our work over the years or even as a first time contributor, a deeply appreciative thank you on behalf of our Board and Staff Team. Your generosity has made so many successes possible. We invite you to view our 2008 trails report.

It is our turn to leave a legacy. Forest Park needs our help even as it reminds us of our genuine ties to nature, connects us with our deepest wisdom, and for so many, provides the only access to nature. We have the privilege of working to protect and enhance Forest Park because of the history of leadership, the power of a vision and the benefit of financial support from decades past. As we celebrate Forest Park's 60th Anniversary, never has the need been more urgent: of Forest Park's 5,000 plus acres, 44% are in fair to severely degraded condition.
We ask that you commit a portion of your year-end giving to the Conservancy, Forest Park's strongest champion. With your contribution, you can have confidence and the assurance that the Conservancy is committed to the very things we as Oregonians treasure: clean air, water, abundant native wildlife and the best outdoor recreational opportunities located minutes from the core urban area.
Finally, after reading this E-appeal, we ask of you two things: 1) Make an easy on-line contribution to the Conservancy or contact us to set-up a monthly stewardship commitment of $10/month, or more; 2) Send this E-Appeal to 10 friends - tis the season for giving and what better gift than the health of this beautiful place in the northwest we call home.
